Cowes

Cowes is a beautiful and vibrant town and world renowned for yachting. The town offers good shops and many pubs and restaurants. The sea is only ever a few minutes walk away and every day there is something different to see out on the water whether it be the thrill of the racing during Cowes Week, cruise ships on their way in or out of Southampton or the tankers and container ships.  

Cowes beach and nearby Gurnard beach are safe for swimming although care should always be taken as there can be strong tides. At low tide it is always fun to explore the rock pools. There is a lovely parade along Cowes seafront, leading you past the Royal Yacht Squadron along to the Green; ideal for picnics and ice creams.
